Sam is our ward nurse educator and consistently goes above and beyond her role.
“Six months ago, Sam really stepped up when a patient required insertion of a Berlin Heart, something we do not do very often. Sam launched an education package and successfully ran sessions for nurses to update their knowledge on the care and management of tamariki on the Berlin Heart.
“Sam also went on to support a second patient on the Berlin Heart, and in addition to educating the wider team, partnered closely with the whānau to ensure they felt confident with the treatment.
“Sam has become the nursing point of contact for all things Berlin Heart.”
