Mental health services

Aronui Ora | Maternal Mental Health includes mental health professionals from the disciplines of psychiatry, psychology, social work, occupational therapy, psychotherapy and nursing. There are team members with specialist knowledge in the area of infant care and attachment (promoting a secure parent and infant relationship).

Assertive Community Outreach provides assertive treatment and support to service users with psychotic and mood disorders who have a pattern of problematic engagement with services and/or treatment recommendations and a history of high risk during periods of relapse.

Awhi Mātua | Mental Health Services for Older People provides support to help older people experiencing serious mental health problems reach their best possible function and wellness. 

Buchanan Rehabilitation Centre is a specialist 40-bed mental health, recovery-focused, rehabilitation service which provides assessment, treatment and intensive rehabilitation combined with a high level of clinical support in a safe environment.

Child & Family Unit is an acute psychiatric child and adolescent mental health inpatient unit.

Community Mental Health Services – Adult provide a range of services for adults with moderate to severe mental illness or psychological distress. 

The Kari Centre is a secondary mental health service that provides support for moderate to severe mental health conditions that cause a significant impact on a child/young person’s (rangatahi) functioning.

Lotofale Pacific Mental Health Service aims to optimise the mental health and general wellbeing of adult Pacific Islanders in central Auckland who have serious mental health problems.

Manawanui Oranga Hinengaro | Māori Mental Health is a kaupapa Māori community mental health service for adults run by Te Toka Tumai Auckland.

Psychiatry – Children's Health provides psychological and emotional assessment and support to tamariki and rangatahi who have medical or surgical problems and their whānau. 

Rauaroha Segar House is a specialist psychotherapy service offering an outpatient day programme of therapeutic interventions.

Regional Dual Disability Service provides support for people with intellectual disability who also have significant mental health concerns.

Tū Māia provides mental health assessments for young people with a known or suspected mental health disorder who are engaged in offending behaviours and involved with the Justice System.

Te Whetu Tawera Adult Acute Mental Health Unit is Te Toka Tumai Auckland’s Acute Mental Health Unit for Adults. It has 58 beds, which includes 12 Intensive Care Unit beds.
